Cookies in a jar are the perfect party favour. Send your guests home with something sweet and
thoughtful that ensures the festivities last for days on end. Cookie mix jars are incredibly easy to make
and very budget friendly. All you need are a few cupboard essentials and a little bit of fairy dust!
Alex Shaw from The Inspired Occasion shares with us her easy peasy cookie mix in a jar for a fabulous Fairy Party.
Ingredients:
- 1 jar (approx 1 litre capacity)
- 115g plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 75g brown sugar
- 80g caster sugar
- 70g rolled oats
- 200g chocolate chips/nuts/dried fruit
Additional ingredients needed:
- 110g melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Mix flour and baking powder in a bowl
- Pour the mixture into prepared sterilised jar
- Layer the following ingredients brown sugar, caster sugar, oats and finally chocolate chips.
- Seal jar with lid, decorative elements and instructions
Cookie Preparation:
- Pre-heat oven to 190°C.
- Line baking tray with baking paper.
- Pour contents of jar into a mixing bowl.
- Add additional ingredients – butter, egg and vanilla.
- Stir until combined.
- Place tablespoons of the mixture on baking tray approximately 10cm apart.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes
